Lawyers of the former President Joseph Ejercito Estrada said that the former President will now be seeking for Arroyo's pardon and withdraw his appeal of the Sandiganbayan’s verdict last month.

“I realized I really don’t stand a chance with the justice system that we have … so I bowed to the wisdom of my lawyers,” he told the Philippine Daily Inquirer (parent company of INQUIRER.net) in a phone interview from his rest house in Tanay, Rizal.

According to some critics, President might grant pardon, but, not FULL. The government might still run after Estrada's ill gotten riches.

Jinggoy Estrada said in an interview that asking for presidential pardon does not mean that his father is guilty and they just need to do this especially that former Joseph Estrada's mother is in a critical condition.
